Bob started playing clarinet and flute in grade school, in New Jersey, his home state.  In 7th grade he saw a sax --- and fell in love.  As a young man, Bob played in soul and funk bands, and he was a member of Bruce Springsteen’s band in the early 70s.  Bob plays an alto sax (with alligator case) --- made in 1927 ---  that he has had since grade school.
