Joe is a Minnesota native who has enjoyed drumming since 11 years old.  He began with a great mentor, Elliot Fine of the Minnesota Orchestra, and was influenced by sounds of Jazz & Big Band, and many of his father's favorites: Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa, Louie Bellson & Max Roach.  Along the way, Joe has enjoyed many other influences including R&B, Blues, Rock, Fusion, Reggae and Calypso.  Other inspiration comes from percussion greats Steve Gadd, Steve Smith, David Garibaldi, Tony Williams, Curt Cress, Peter Erskine, Manu Katché, Greg Bissonette, Simon Phillips & others.
